Snowflake Tag/Ornament and Giveaway

Hello everyone, time for a project share and a double giveaway. I had mentioned that I wanted to do a giveaway before Christmas, cutting it close but here we are! :)  In the meantime, I am happy to say I have since reached just over 1000 subscribers on YouTube, so what better way to celebrate than to do a double giveaway. To enter the giveaway, all you will need is to be a subscriber of my YouTube channel, like and comment...the winners will be chosen at random and announced sometime in late January, good luck!!!

Meanwhile, I've been mad crazy trying to get so much done before heading out to visit my oldest son, who is so hosting his first Christmas Dinner, so happy and excited to say the least...the fact the I had time to make this post was a miracle, lol. With that said, he wants to start a little tradition, for every year he hosts a Christmas dinner, he wants me to make him a new ornament for his tree. Such a wonderful idea.

Well I thought it would be nice to add a bit of a twist. I wanted to make it more personal by creating the ornament as a chipboard tag first and attaching it to his gift with our sentiment on the back, which in turn he can use the tag as the ornament for his tree. The chipboard "mdf" is from a small circle mini album that I haven't used in forever... it's light, yet sturdy enough to last through time.

Enjoy...

Fall Home Decor - Turquoise Pumpkin

Hello everyone... so happy to be back after a long over due break. Between vacations and being under the weather (still in the midst of recouping), it feels great to return to my studio, sit and have some fun. In the process of working on some fun Christmas projects, including some giveaways, so stay tuned.

With that said, the Fall season is still here and for today's project, I decided to create some "Fall" home décor. I was challenged to create my very first mood board and to share my creative process and ability to design around it...such a great and fun idea. As I enjoy this beautiful fall weather, I created a mood board based around it.

Living in Pennsylvania, I get to enjoy all the different climate changes for each season, Fall being one my favorite's. Love the crisp cool sweater weather, the smell of fresh baked pies and gorgeous scenery of the mountains. Typically I don't use turquoise in my fall décor, "not sure why" as it's a beautiful contrast and I use it in my den, with that in mind and using the mood board, I created a turquoise pumpkin.

Still incorporating the typical Fall elements, like pumpkins, rustic/distressed woods and orange candles, I thought, why not incorporate some "beach like" elements on the pumpkin that could work for some who live near the coastal beaches and/or warmer climate areas.

I used the various colors of turquoise and teal to create the distressed look of the pumpkin...I created "treasures" of  turquoise and amber crystals, gold and copper sparkly glitter, various colors of micro beads with some teal mica flakes, a"coral like" Fall leaf and the "seaweed like" leafy sprays that can easily be found near any beach.

Enjoy...

Moments in Time

Hi all, happy to announce that once again I am a guest designer for Frilly and Funkie, as always, it is such a pleasure. This weeks challenge is hosted by Pamellia and the challenge theme is "Things with Wings"... create any vintage or shabby chic project with something that has wings. It can be butterflies, bees, dragonflies, whatever you can think of.

For my project I decided to do a shabby chic tag using purple, which is one of my least favorite colors to work with, but I just fell in love with the harlequin paper. For the wings challenge I chose to go with birds, I used the larger tag (#10) which would accommodate the clock, flowers and 2 birds that I knew I wanted to use. For the clock piece I used Scrapiniec decorative chipboard, I really love how a lot of their chipboard pieces are layered.

Be sure to stop by the Frilly and Funkie blog, join in on the challenge and check out some awesome inspiration from the design team.

Enjoy...

Have a great day!!!

Inspirational Butterfly Tag

Hi everyone, hope you're all having an enjoyable summer. Today I am happy to announce the I am the guest designer for Berry71Bleu's Challenge Blog... it's truly an honor, thank you Denise and the team for having me on.

This month's mood board is "Summer Hideaway" which is posted below...and my take on this month's challenge is more of a last hoorah to Summer. Change is near with the new fall season just ahead and with summer coming to an end, I thought it perfect to create an inspirational tag using some beautiful butterflies and perfect wording from Dylusions stamps... "what appears to be the end is usually the start of a new beginning".

Love these colors, by far my favorite color combo, with my favorite color yellow being at the top... I can't tell you how thrilled I was to use them in my tag. I have a video tutorial with a complete supply list posted below. Be sure to stop by Berry71Bleu's Challenge Blog for much more inspiration and have some fun by joining in on the challenge too!

"Journey" Canvas and Mixed Media Giveaway

Hi everyone, happy to be back with another project and some great news. It's time for a giveaway and let me tell this is an awesome giveaway...I'm calling it a "Mixed Media start up kit". The reasoning behind it was to put almost everything and anything you would need for a mixed media project. I have a video posted below and you will see enough goodies to make all kinds of projects. For your chance to win, visit my YouTube channel... you must subscribe, like and comment on the video posted below...good luck!!!

If you missed out or didn't win the giveaway, don't fret as I plan on doing a couple more giveaways before the year is up.

Also today I have a project that I call "Journey" by the sea. I made this for this weeks Frilly and Funkie challenge...BY THE SEA and Deco Arts challenge...Under The Sea. For this project I used all kinds of fun embellishments, stencils, Prima and Petaloo flowers and a cute little resin seahorse by Prima, I painted it using some Deco Art paints in blues, greys, browns and white, super adorable. I also used Finnabair's rusting pastes for the corner pieces and Milange art pebbles for the water drops. All and all a ton of fun to make.

Enjoy...

Hard to see on the project,
but there's a Prima resin frame
under the seahorse.

Vintage Mini Album... Family

Hi everyone, I'm happy to announce that today I am a guest designer for Frilly and Funkie, I'm so honored to have been chosen to do so and to be a part of this challenge. This weeks challenge is hosted by Suzz, the theme is... All in the Family - whether it's your ancestors, a favorite family memory or family outings, create a vintage or shabby chic project reflecting your family.

I thought what better way to create a family project than to create a mini album where I can utilize all of the above and then some. No Frilly today, I went with the Funkie side, this album will be used for journaling and photos, past and present... for family, home, traditions, history, etc. This will be something I will surely treasure for years to come, not to mention  a wonderful treasure to pass down to younger generations.

It's been a while since I've done a grungy vintage project and I can't tell you how much fun I had playing with it. For me, when it comes to vintage I instantly think of Tim Holtz, all of his products are perfect for creating a vintage project. I 've also used some of the Prima rusting pastes by Finnabair for an awesome rusting affect on the ring binder. There is a YouTube video tutorial posted below and it will have a list of all of the supplies needed, most of which you may find over at the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Quick note: I did pick out 3 prompts from the Artist Prompt Box I made... I got 7 Gypsies, embossing powder and twine. I haven't used anything from 7 Gypsies in a long time, what a great way to pull out things that have been sitting a while and would probably continue to sit if it weren't for these prompts.

With that said, be sure to stop by Frilly and Funkie for more inspiration and join in on this wonderful challenge.

Enjoy...

7 Gypsies tab dividers, papers and transparencies...
to be decorated as I add photos and journaling.

Rust Paste and Rub N Buff on the ring binder and the name plate

Rubb N Buff on the pen nib... Spanish Copper and Antique Gold
and Tim Holtz distress embossing powder...Walnut Stain

Here's the tutorial...enjoy!

Abigail's Baby Album

Hello creative friends, I would love to share with you my latest project...a baby album for niece Stacey and her newborn daughter Abigail. I will only be sharing the outside of the album as there is just way too much on the inside for me to post and I didn't get a chance to do a "project share" video... the album itself is from Heartfelt Creations, I bought all the inserts for it and magnets to keep all of the inserts secure.

For the front/back covers and spine, I used a wide range of flowers, papers, metal embellishments, chipboard, lace, pearls, bling, embossing powders, paint and more. My most favorite part of this album is the book closure...the heart locket and the key behind it which says dream. Lots of love went into this album and I know she will enjoy it for years to come.

Enjoy...

Love this heart locket,
it has a little glass window so you can see what's inside.

"Thank You Teacher" Treat Bag

Hi everyone, we are nearly at the end of another school year and what better way to end the year than to say thank you to the teacher. Well today's 3d challenge over at Cardz TV is  to say thanks to the teacher with treat bag or box, so  I made a "Thank You Teacher" apple treat bag. I used the "School Days" set from Cardz TV Stamps and heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder on a "blackboard" paper tag.

This svg file is from SVG Cuts "Miss Karen's Back to School Bags". I added abc & 123 stickers from "Simple Stories "Elementary" paper kit, some shimmer with my Wink of Stella glitter pen and some ribbon. This cute little bag is sure to put a smile on any teacher's face.

Please stop by Cardz TV for more inspiration from our DT and to enter in this weeks challenge for a chance to win a stamp set from Cardz TV stamps.

Mixed Media Tag - Enjoy

Hello creative friends, today I want to share with you a mixed media tag I made to go with some small gifted items I have sent out. Didn't have time to do a tutorial, but below I will have all the items used to create this tag. I so love playing with different textures and mediums, there really is no right or wrong way... just play with it and have fun!

I used the Tim Holtz tag die cut for the first tag layer, added foam tape behind it and adhered it to a slightly bigger tag that I cut out for the mat. I distressed all around the edges of the tags, added a flower eyelet for the hole and tied it with some jute twine, which was partially glued behind some of the little flowers.

After adding all of the different elements and mediums I used gesso for a bit of a shabby chic appeal. All in all, I'm happy with how it turned out and hope she likes it too.

Enjoy...

Happy Mother's Day Tag Card

Hello creative peeps, here today with another DT project for Cardz TV. For this weeks challenge we needed to make a 3d Mother's Day card. So for this project I decided to make a flower pot card with a flower tag, which is great card for any mom who may be a gardener too. You can easily insert a gift card and/or leave a hand written message behind the flower tag.

I found this cute svg file in the Silhouette store... Flower Pot Card Kit design# 8696. I used Cardz TV Stamps "Happy Days" and "It's All Good" for the sentiments. I added some buttons and twine and used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the flowers. This was a simple card to make, but lots of fun!

For more inspiration from our DT please visit Cardz TV and be sure to join this weeks challenge for a chance to win a Cardz TV stamp set.

I made this a tad shabby chic, by adding some pearls, lace, seam binding and little butterfly that I cut out with a MS punch. I also used a punch for the little tag for my sentiment.

Spring Has Sprung... Floral Topiary

Hello my creative friends, welcome back for another DT project for Cardz TV. For today's 3D challenge I had to make a home décor project for Spring, so I decided to make a floral topiary. The "Spring has sprung" sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps "Think Spring" set. This topiary fits right in with the décor in my studio, especially with yellow being my favorite color.

This file is from SVG Cuts "Thank You For the Music" svg kit, and as always, she does tutorials on how to assemble her cuts. I used Heartfelt Creations "Sunny Day" and "Classic Sunflower" collections for the vase and butterflies and yellow cardstock for the flowers.

Be sure to stop by Cardz TV for more inspiration from Mary and our DT , also be sure to enter in this weeks challenge for a chance to win  a set of Cardz TV Stamps

Mixed Media Art Prompt Box 2

Hi everyone, in a previous post I shared with you my first Art Prompt Box. Well today I want to share with you my 2nd Art Prompt Box. This box is quite different from the first one, which is what I wanted. I was in the mood for something that was airy and light with a touch of vintage shabby chic.

I had lots of fun creating this and now I'm ready to start challenging myself to create some projects  using the prompts. As I get new products, I need to remember to add them to my list. Hope you've been inspired and are having fun creating your own prompt boxes... supplies listed below! :)

Enjoy...

Supplies used...
Wooden box and misc. metals, chipboard and old paintbrushes etc.
Gesso, Modeling paste for stencils and Crackle paste for the drawer.
Prima Shabby Chic door locks.
Tim Holtz Alpha Parts, Ornate plates and Black Soot Ink.
Crafter's workshop stencils: "Mini Moving Vines" and "Mini art Is".
Prima and Petaloo Flowers.
Heartfelt Creations "Everyday Heroes" paper collection for box sides and drawer.
Sprays: Glimmer Mist "Patina and Dylusions "Calypso Teal" watered down.

I added several layers between gesso and sprays, lastly using a round, but flat bottom sponge brush with gesso for some texture. To finish, I used the black soot ink  for shadowing.

Have fun... be creative!!!

Birthday Spinner Card

Hi there, I'm here today with a DT project for Cardz TV. In this challenge we needed to make a 3D birthday card, so I decided I would make a spinner card. I designed this svg file on my Silhouette.  I think it's a great way to have kids enjoy their birthday card, by making it interactive and fun to play with. Even I had fun playing with it, haha! :)

There are four different sentiments on this card. The Cardz TV Stamps I used are "Good Times", "Ticket Talk 2", "Picture This" and "It's All Good". I used the "Create a Critter" Cricut cartridge for the dinosaur and TH distress inks for the background. Be sure to stop by the Cardz TV  blog for more inspiration from Mary and our design team.

Enjoy...
