By The Sea - Lighthouse Frame

Hello creative friends, happy to share another DT project for Art Anthology. For today's project I made a mixed media, somewhat altered lighthouse frame. I decided not to add a photo yet (needing one that's just right), instead I removed the glass piece and replaced it with pattern paper and a wooden sentiment, I saved the glass piece for when I add the photo later.

I used a combination of Art Anthology Colorations color sprays, Velvet and Sorbet dimensional mediums and some Stone Effects. Please visit the Art Anthology blog for more creative and inspirational ideas...there you will also find links to Pinterest and YouTube. Also, you can join us on Facebook "Art Anthology Adventures In Art", where you can share your ideas and beautiful works of art. Hope to see you there!

Below you will find a step by step tutorial, along with a list of supplies.

Keep Life Simple... Art Journal

Hi everyone, happy to be back with another DT project for Mixed Media Warriors, as always drawing inspiration from this month's mood board posted below. One thing I found myself really enjoying when it comes to creating an art journal page is using inspirational quotes. Positive quotes are great way in opening our minds to self reflect in everyday life... be it ourselves, family and/or friends. As for the theme, there's always something so peaceful, quiet and soothing about the ocean and what lives within it.

I love to mix and match all kinds of mediums, as it's a great way to see what works best together. Below I used a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Ink and Ink Oxides (love) with the addition to Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals (love) and gesso. Using my heat gun I was able to make the gesso somewhat bubble giving it some awesome background texture. The ink oxides have a beautiful soft chalk texture look without the chalkiness feel and the magicals have certain rough, yet awesome texture when it's not fully diluted, which I found to be a perfect combination, as you'll see posted below.

As for the tag pocket, it's a great way to store a special memory...a trip to the aquarium, the beach or a boat ride out to sea.

TH Distress Ink Oxides...cracked pistachio, iced spruce, broken china and faded jeans.
TH "Small Talk" stickers and Untiy Stamp...Quieter You Become.

LSG magicals...ocean breeze, raspberry lemonade and plumeria pink.
For the foliage TH Distress Ink vintage photo and Ink Oxide fossilized amber.

Hope you feel inspired to join by referencing the beautiful mood board below!

Have a fun and creative day!!!

Moments in Time

Hi all, happy to announce that once again I am a guest designer for Frilly and Funkie, as always, it is such a pleasure. This weeks challenge is hosted by Pamellia and the challenge theme is "Things with Wings"... create any vintage or shabby chic project with something that has wings. It can be butterflies, bees, dragonflies, whatever you can think of.

For my project I decided to do a shabby chic tag using purple, which is one of my least favorite colors to work with, but I just fell in love with the harlequin paper. For the wings challenge I chose to go with birds, I used the larger tag (#10) which would accommodate the clock, flowers and 2 birds that I knew I wanted to use. For the clock piece I used Scrapiniec decorative chipboard, I really love how a lot of their chipboard pieces are layered.

Be sure to stop by the Frilly and Funkie blog, join in on the challenge and check out some awesome inspiration from the design team.

Have a great day!!!

Inspirational Butterfly Tag

Hi everyone, hope you're all having an enjoyable summer. Today I am happy to announce the I am the guest designer for Berry71Bleu's Challenge Blog... it's truly an honor, thank you Denise and the team for having me on.

This month's mood board is "Summer Hideaway" which is posted below...and my take on this month's challenge is more of a last hoorah to Summer. Change is near with the new fall season just ahead and with summer coming to an end, I thought it perfect to create an inspirational tag using some beautiful butterflies and perfect wording from Dylusions stamps... "what appears to be the end is usually the start of a new beginning".

Love these colors, by far my favorite color combo, with my favorite color yellow being at the top... I can't tell you how thrilled I was to use them in my tag. I have a video tutorial with a complete supply list posted below. Be sure to stop by Berry71Bleu's Challenge Blog for much more inspiration and have some fun by joining in on the challenge too!

Also today I have a project that I call "Journey" by the sea. I made this for this weeks Frilly and Funkie challenge...BY THE SEA and Deco Arts challenge...Under The Sea. For this project I used all kinds of fun embellishments, stencils, Prima and Petaloo flowers and a cute little resin seahorse by Prima, I painted it using some Deco Art paints in blues, greys, browns and white, super adorable. I also used Finnabair's rusting pastes for the corner pieces and Milange art pebbles for the water drops. All and all a ton of fun to make.

Hard to see on the project,
but there's a Prima resin frame
under the seahorse.

Hello Summer Card

Hi everyone, today I'm here with a quick post for my DT project for Timeless Twine. This week I decided to make a card, I used "Hello Summer" stamp set from Bella Creationz and "Raspberry Lemonade" twine. The patterned papers and the bee's are from a couple of Echo Park's paper collections from the last year or two.

The banner die set is from Craftin Desert Diva's, the pink banner is actually the smaller banner cut in half which I then adhered to the top and bottom backside of the larger die, to make it appear longer. I put foam tape behind most of the layers, cut out some photo corners and voila, the card is complete!

Lighted Gazebo Party Decor

Hi everyone, with Summer right around the corner, it's about that time for pool or beach parties. So as my Timeless Twine project, I decided to make some party d├ęcor. I found this Gazebo file in the Silhouette store - design #79278, I chose colors that would fit perfectly with a summer theme, be it a pool or beach party, or whatever fun party your having.

I used some "Firecracker" twine and a "white doily" from Bella Creationz. I also added some blue brads and small white flowers. I haven't gone to a summer party yet that hasn't continued into the evening, which is why I thought it would be cute to add the little LED candle.

"Gone Fishin" Box of Shells

Hello there, hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. For todays DT project at Cardz TV Gallery, I made a boat box and I used Cardz TV Stamps "Fun in the Sun" for the cute sentiments. I bought the boat box svg file from SVG Cuts kit "Picnic in the Park" and the fence from the "Seaside" svg kit.

Most kids when they go to the beach, love to collect seashells, so this will be for a little boys room, so he can put his seashells inside.

I did use some Prima seashells, which I painted, and the bigger seashells from K&Company. I used several TH distress embossing powders to create the sand, I added a nautical metal compass and a variety of rope and twine to complete my project. The nautical papers are from Authentique.

Memorial Day BBQ - Tabletop Decor

Hi everyone, it's time to share a fun project that I made for my Memorial Day weekend BBQ. Today is "Move it Monday" on the Timeless Twine blog, so I had to make a project that moves. Well that challenge helped inspire my idea for creating some spinning pinwheels.

Memorial Day weekend is perfect for cookouts and as always that's what we do here at home. I love decorating as much as I love creating, so when the holidays come around, I have so much fun putting it all together.

I used the Key Lime Sorbet twine and the Happy stamp set from Bella Creationz. The pinwheels are from Cricut, the bottles I bought at Hobby Lobby and the sticks are from an old scent diffuser that had dried out.

I needed something to keep the sticks in place, so for the inside I bought "Tropical Infusion" scented Sachets that I bought at AC Moore for a buck a piece. I can't even begin to explain how amazing it smells. I opened the one for the purpose of sharing this project, but I will save the others until they're ready to go out on the tables.

I'm sure before the end of the night, the kids will have their fun playing with the pinwheels! :)

You can cut 4 pinwheels out of a 12 x12 double
sided paper. Use 3 in each jar, I made a total of 8 jars,
so I needed 6 sheets of patterned paper.

Simple Things Make Life Sweet!

Hi everyone and "Happy April Fools' Day"!!! I have four boys, so I'm certain at some point today some kind of prank will be played upon me, this could prove to be an interesting day! Today I will be posting onto the Cardz TV Gallery, for more inspiration stop by and check out the DT's creativity as well.

For todays project I made a basket, for the sentiment I used one of Mary's Cardz TV Stamps "Just Saying" which is a wonderful set. For the basket I used the file from the svg kit "Picnic in a Basket" from

You can put anything in this basket really, depending on who or what you are using it for. Personally, I will be putting some flower petals inside of the basket with a small gift and a note card. This is for a friend, but I think this would be a great idea for Mother's Day too!

Hope you feel inspired and get your creative juices flowing.

So Happy For You

Happy Hump Day everyone, today is Hump Day at Timeless Twine and for todays challenge I needed to make a project using the word Happy. Yellow makes me very Happy which is probably why it's my favorite color.

So for todays project I made a sweet yellow basket, filled with yummy caramels (also my favorite) sitting in little white baggies. I did use the Orange Licorice twine from Timeless Twine and the Happy Days stamps set, along with doilies and paper bags from Bella Creationz

I love how the doilies added gave it a nice feminine feel and I have to say, I never thought I could find so many uses for twine as I do now, it adds just the perfect touch to any project.

The svg file for this basket is from the Silhouette store, design #25538. Additional supplies used will be listed below!

"Summer" Card Holder and "Thank You" Cards

Hi everyone, I want to share with you a project I made today, this project can be used as a gift set for a friend or to just keep for yourself. Summer time is usually pretty busy around here when it comes to parties, we've all thrown them and know just how much hard work goes into throwing one. So I thought it would be nice to have some "Thank You" cards made up to send to all the creative party throwers I know, for whose awesome parties I attended. It's my little way of showing just how much I appreciate all that they have done and for inviting me, which is always an honor!

In this case, with Summer coming to an end (so sad) I made the Summer 3d card holder to hold my thank you cards, but this can also be used to store all sorts of summer cards. I did make a 3d card holder for this past Spring, which are for my Spring cards, (previously posted)... so you know what that means, a Fall one is next in line, yippee!!!

This project is pretty simple to put together, although the TH die cut Seahorses did take a bit of time, I painted them, embossed them and used Rock Candy crackle paint! I used Cardz TV stamp set "Many Thanks" for the sentiment.

I hope you all enjoy and get inspired!!! :)

"4th of July" Lanterns

Hi everyone, back with another DT project for Cardz TV Stamps! This is Challenge #3...Create a 3D "4th of July" project. I decided to do some lanterns and I used the "Happy Days" stamp set.

I found this SVG kit "Stars and Stripes" and fell in love, I used the lantern SVG file from that kit. These can be a bit tedious, but they assemble pretty quick. Instructions and where you can find this kit will be posted below.

I made three lanterns, one in each color...Red, White and Blue. These will be a perfect centerpiece for any "4th of July" party! I also added 3" LED candles inside of them, so these will work great during the day and at night as well.

Please stop by and join in on this fun challenge for a chance to win an awesome stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps!

Looking forward to seeing everyone's 3D projects!!! :)

Lazy Days of Summer

Made this card using the Design Sketch for Mojo Monday!  For the new year they've decided to change things up and make the last Monday of the month a Tall & Skinny week. Their design team has featured two different ways to achieve a tall & skinny card.

The first size is 3.5 x 5.5" and fits a regular A2 envelope and for a little more skinny, you can try a 3.5 x 6" card to fit a regular No. 6 3/4 envelope... I used the 3.5 x 5.5" size

I decided to use warm colors, like the yellows and oranges and some greens, and the stamp set I used is from Cardz TV Stamps "Fun in the Sun". I made this card with a serious need for warm weather, with all of the frigid cold weather we have been getting, I am so ready for summer, as I am sure most of us are...I am even willing to skip Spring, which is one of my favorite times of year, lol! (maybe not)
