Steampunk Christmas Tag

Hi there, today I would like to share with you a tag I made. I decided to join in on a swap (which I haven't done in a while) and per my partner's request, I was to make her a Steampunk Christmas Tag. Something new and a bit different, which is awesome because I love to be challenged. I did make it more of a wintery Christmas than the typical traditional one, yet still using some reds and golds. I had lots of fun creating this and I really hope she likes it! :)

Enjoy...

Lighted Steampunk Altered Clock

Hi everyone, today I want to share a project with you that I have been working on, between design teams and life in general, it's taken quite sometime to complete, but as of last night I am finally done... yay!!! I am so, so happy with the way it turned out. I put a lot of work into it, it actually lights up and shows the layers of gears that I put between the clock face and the back of the clock.

It just so happens that I had seen a post for the June challenge at Creative Embellishments, which is posted below with an inspiration photo, which shows a clock face, so I thought why not join in on it. Most of the gears, the clock face and wings are from Creative Embellishments, the clock is from Tim Holtz and the steampunk hat was originally a velvet leprechaun hat that I altered.

All of the other embellishments you can get at any craft store, including the steampunk airship. I also used various mediums for texture and color. The miniature lights I bought at AC Moore by the flower section. All in all, the entire project was so much fun to work on, but I couldn't be happier to finally have it complete.

Enjoy...

Clock is backlit, lights are behind the clock face.

For the June challenge please be inspired by at least one element from the picture below (let us know what it was in your blog post) and for the twist add something with wings to your project.

Have a great day!!!

Click Your Heels

Hi everyone, here we go with a project I created for the Party Time Tuesdays DT challenge. Please head on over and join us for the challenge, it's "Anything Goes"! We would love to see your projects and this month's sponsor is Spectrum Noir.

I'm sure I speak for many when I say I have so many products in my studio that I have yet to use. So I've decided I will challenge myself to use at least one product that I have not used in one of my projects. In this case I used my chain link punch.

I have a steampunk boot stamp that I had gotten way back from Stampendous. I have used this boot for a swap I was in, where I created an Artist Tray. It's not a stamp I will use often, so I used it for the project and I will put it aside for something to donate later.

I made some wall d├ęcor using a wooded frame I bought at AC Moore for $1, which hung from rope. I used some Creative Embellishments chipboard gears, along with some metal gears. I did color in the boot with Spectrum Noir markers. I also added some metal accents, flowers and lace to complete the project.

Enjoy...

We cannot wait to see your ANYTHING GOES projects for the month of May.  We are also super excited to have back the fabulous Spectrum Noir as our sponsor for May.

Have a great day!!!

Steampunky Hot Air Balloon

Hi everyone, here is my project for Party Time Tuesdays, this month's sponsor is Spectrum Noir. I had mentioned before on a previous post for my Strawberry Cupcake Hot Air Balloon that I had made a steampunky hot air balloon and here you have it. I didn't go to heavy on the gears and what not, as I did want to keep it quite simple and not weigh it down too much, but I still love how it turned out.

I love this hot air balloon svg file from "High Skies", Mary from SVG Cuts always amazes me with what she comes up with, but I have to say this svg file is one of my favorites. I used Timeless Twine "Aqua Delight" which worked perfectly, their twine really stands out so nicely on the balloon.

The possibilities are endless, looking forward to making some more  of these for a summer party.

Soon to come... an altered steampunk clock!

Enjoy...

Kelley's Book of Shadows...Final Post

Finally we have arrived to the last post showing the complete book of shadows. This was a long process, but I was very happy with it's end result and to finally send it away. I know Kelley is having fun with it, just wondering how long it will take to fill in all of them color charts...oh boy!!! I didn't get a chance to go through all of the pictures before mailing this out to Kelley, so I picked the best ones out of the bunch, they're not perfect, but I think they will do. Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed the journey!

Kelley's Book of Shadows...

Every chapter cover had a leathery chapter page in front of it, just like the one in this pic.

Part Four...Kelley's Book of Shadows - Chapter Three

Here we are with the 3rd chapter. I know that one of Kelley's styles besides grunge is steampunk and I believe her favorite paper line from Graphic 45 is "Steampunk Debutante"...so that's what I used. On this cover my focus was on the steampunk hat. I printed a sketch I found online for the hat and cut it into 2 pieces (rim and top hat) to use as a template. I traced the images on some kraft chipboard, then covered the chipboard with TH tissue paper. I used LSG sprays, Th embossing folder and TH distress paint to color the hat. I used TH dies to cut out the gears (some I rusted and some I used TH distress embossing powders, inked them with copper paint)and I also added some metal gears I had in my stash. I used flowers, black glitter flourishes, feathers, jeweled leaf and a copper chain that was also from my stash. All in all, I really liked how it turned out.
