Mini Art Book

Hi everyone, here today with my first designer post for Mixed Media Warriors challenge, my project is inspired by this month's "Spring" mood board. I created a mini chipboard book that I plan to use for small little works of art. I found this book at Michaels that came with metal rings for the binding, I decided to switch it out with a ball chain instead, it can easily hook and unhook when I need to pull out a page.

Looking forward to playing with it!

Please visit Mixed Media Warriors for more inspiration and hope you feel inspired to join us!

Enjoy...

Mary will be giving 3 sets of Cardz TV Stamps for her blog candy, so if you’re a follower of Cardz TV, just leave a comment on her blog.

I will be giving away 2 sets of Cardz TV Stamps of your choice! You must be a follower of my blog and leave a comment below for a chance to win... WINNER will be announced on Wednesday!

I am saddened to say that after much consideration I have decided to resign as design team member for Cardz TV. I'm truly honored to have been part of this team, the design team girls are super talented and super sweet and Mary has been so supportive, caring and just a wonderful friend to have over the years. I will miss being part of the team, but I will still continue to enjoy seeing all of their creative talents!!!

Now onto my project... I decided to make the A2 size "magazine" holder with a base. I have made some of these previously, but I like that this one has a base to hold all 4 together, which I used 1 for each season. The svg file is from the Silhouette store design# 123191. I do plan to make another one for birthdays, thank you, moments and just because.

The Cardz TV Stamps used...
"Fun in the Sun", "Thankful for You", "Snow Day" and "Merry Everything", the "Think Spring" is (Retired).

Mixed Media Tag - Enjoy

Hello creative friends, today I want to share with you a mixed media tag I made to go with some small gifted items I have sent out. Didn't have time to do a tutorial, but below I will have all the items used to create this tag. I so love playing with different textures and mediums, there really is no right or wrong way... just play with it and have fun!

I used the Tim Holtz tag die cut for the first tag layer, added foam tape behind it and adhered it to a slightly bigger tag that I cut out for the mat. I distressed all around the edges of the tags, added a flower eyelet for the hole and tied it with some jute twine, which was partially glued behind some of the little flowers.

After adding all of the different elements and mediums I used gesso for a bit of a shabby chic appeal. All in all, I'm happy with how it turned out and hope she likes it too.

Enjoy...

Happy Mother's Day Tag Card

Hello creative peeps, here today with another DT project for Cardz TV. For this weeks challenge we needed to make a 3d Mother's Day card. So for this project I decided to make a flower pot card with a flower tag, which is great card for any mom who may be a gardener too. You can easily insert a gift card and/or leave a hand written message behind the flower tag.

I found this cute svg file in the Silhouette store... Flower Pot Card Kit design# 8696. I used Cardz TV Stamps "Happy Days" and "It's All Good" for the sentiments. I added some buttons and twine and used my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the flowers. This was a simple card to make, but lots of fun!

For more inspiration from our DT please visit Cardz TV and be sure to join this weeks challenge for a chance to win a Cardz TV stamp set.

Spring Has Sprung... Floral Topiary

Hello my creative friends, welcome back for another DT project for Cardz TV. For today's 3D challenge I had to make a home décor project for Spring, so I decided to make a floral topiary. The "Spring has sprung" sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps "Think Spring" set. This topiary fits right in with the décor in my studio, especially with yellow being my favorite color.

This file is from SVG Cuts "Thank You For the Music" svg kit, and as always, she does tutorials on how to assemble her cuts. I used Heartfelt Creations "Sunny Day" and "Classic Sunflower" collections for the vase and butterflies and yellow cardstock for the flowers.

Be sure to stop by Cardz TV for more inspiration from Mary and our DT , also be sure to enter in this weeks challenge for a chance to win  a set of Cardz TV Stamps

Looking forward to the Spring!!!

Garden in the Basket

Hi guys, hope you are all having a great week. For todays project I made a fun little garden in a wooden basket. The basket is meant to hang on a door, but you can pretty much hang it anywhere.  I got the idea to do this basket from a challenge on the FB group Chic Craftique. Now I am sponsoring the challenge, so obviously I can't join, but I still had fun doing my own take on it.

Aside from the lovely wonderful flowers, I used Craft Embellishments for the bird and the iron piece on the front. I also added a couple of flower buttons, a resin cameo piece and a resin fence to complete the look. Hope this inspires you to do a basket of your own, for yourself or to give as a gift.

Enjoy...

This was a wooden basket that I painted white, I covered it with Graphic 45's "Artisan" papers and heat embossed around all of the edges with Stampendous Encrusted Jewels.

 Have a great day!!!

Stroll Down Memory Lane - Tag

Hi everyone, here with a project I made for the DT challenge from Timeless Twine and Bella Creationz. Today on the blog is "Tag it Tuesday" and I used the "Oh Snap" stamp set for the "Memories" sentiment. Going through my papers from Graphic 45's "Secret Garden", I found an image of a little girl playing in the flowers, which in turn, did indeed bring back some wonderful memories of me as a child.

I wanted to add many flowers to my tag, so I decided to make a the large #10 size tag, which measures 4.125 x 8.25 which I cut out with my Silhouette. I used Timeless Twine "Natural White" which was looped around a couple of flowers and also for hanging the tag. I love this twine as it can used an almost any project.

You can find this tag pretty much at any craft store or as an svg file for Cricut and/or the Silhouette store. I did layer the large tag with a blue smaller tag and stitched it with #10 crochet. I stamped the larger tag with the BoBunny script stamp with the "Coffee" archival ink pad.

Flowers are from Petaloo and the metal accents are from Craft Embellishments which I love and can be found at Hobby Lobby. I think I have every single metal embellishment they make, they come in the nicest colors of blues, yellows, reds and greens.

Enjoy...

Tweet Me...Just Because

Hi everyone, here with a DT project for Cardz TV Gallery. Today I decided to make a card using the Cardz TV stamp set "Critter Punnies". This "Tweet Me" card is great to have on hand for when you want to reach out to someone, this sentiment is just perfect for that.

Now that Spring is finally here and we can all come out of hibernation, I will probably make a few of these and send them out to those I haven't seen all winter long.

I cut the bird cage out of the April Showers Cricut cartridge and I used the label die from My Craft Spot. The papers are from Teresa Collins "Save the Date". To finish the card, I added some rhinestones and polka dot ribbon.

Abandon Me ATC's

Hi there, happy to be back with another project for my DT post for Cardz TV Gallery. I decided I wanted to make some Artist Trading Cards using Cardz TV stamps. I wanted to show how you can take Mary's stamps and pretty much make them work for any kind of project you might want to make, beyond your usual cards and paper projects.

For those of you who don't know, an artist trading card measures 3 1/2 x 2 1/5 and you can create anything you want on them. They are called artist trading cards, because they are meant to be traded with another artist's cards.

I used a lot of mixed mediums to create the textures on the background of the cards and the die cuts, like the butterfly, seahorse and so on. I did join a challenge which was to make 5 of these and then Abandon them in 5 different locations, taking pictures of where I left them... something new to me, but thought it would be fun to do.

All and all, I had a great time making these and I especially loved to show how versatile Cardz TV stamps can be!

Enjoy...

Here is where I abandoned them...

Simple Things Make Life Sweet!

Hi everyone and "Happy April Fools' Day"!!! I have four boys, so I'm certain at some point today some kind of prank will be played upon me, this could prove to be an interesting day! Today I will be posting onto the Cardz TV Gallery, for more inspiration stop by and check out the DT's creativity as well.

For todays project I made a basket, for the sentiment I used one of Mary's Cardz TV Stamps "Just Saying" which is a wonderful set. For the basket I used the file from the svg kit "Picnic in a Basket" from svgcuts.com.

You can put anything in this basket really, depending on who or what you are using it for. Personally, I will be putting some flower petals inside of the basket with a small gift and a note card. This is for a friend, but I think this would be a great idea for Mother's Day too!

Hope you feel inspired and get your creative juices flowing.

"Oh Happy Happy Day" Spring Card

Hi everyone, here is my DT post for Timeless Twine, please be sure stop by there blog for more inspiration. I am so ready for Spring, as much as I love the four season's, I wish we could skip right over January and February.

I Knew I wanted to use the twine for the grass, just wasn't sure on how I would do it, but once I figured it out, it came together pretty quickly. Please watch the YouTube video below to see how I did it. Supplies used will be posted below and shown on the video.

Tim Holtz Triptych

This is the first of the directives that I had to do for a Timmy swap. This is the "T" directive...create a tag or triptych.

I went through several ideas just before giving up, then I landed on this idea. I wanted the look of an outside stone wall and welcome Spring by adding blue butterflies and seam binding. I used TH stamped sayings, thought that worked out nicely.

and so you...

and so you...

and so you...

First I cut out pages from an old book and "white washed" paint over it.

Frames from a previous project idea that didn't work out, I am sure we all have at least one!

I added artist spackle around all of the edges.

Inked all edges with walnut ink and used a typewriter stamp with memento black ink.

Once again "white washed" paint around the edges to give it a finished stone wall look!

Sorry for the blur! I spackled the inside of the frames and lightly went over it with the walnut ink pad.

I used Kaiserkraft wooden butterflies. I used distress embossing powders "Faded Jeans" and "Broken China", I added some TH glitter, inked it with "Broken China" and "Tumbled Glass" ink pads (not shown) and Prima white chalk ink. Then I used glossy accents on top.

I used Making Memories metal word titles, inked them with "Stonewashed" and "Aqua" alcohol inks.

I stamped several sayings from several TH stamp sets, layered them and added brown cardstock for contrast and distressed the edges.

Lets not forget the seam binding in blue for an added touch.

This was the first directive of the Tim Holtz swap. The swap required that we create or purchase something for each letter of his name.
