Vintage Mini Album... Family

Hi everyone, I'm happy to announce that today I am a guest designer for Frilly and Funkie, I'm so honored to have been chosen to do so and to be a part of this challenge. This weeks challenge is hosted by Suzz, the theme is... All in the Family - whether it's your ancestors, a favorite family memory or family outings, create a vintage or shabby chic project reflecting your family.

I thought what better way to create a family project than to create a mini album where I can utilize all of the above and then some. No Frilly today, I went with the Funkie side, this album will be used for journaling and photos, past and present... for family, home, traditions, history, etc. This will be something I will surely treasure for years to come, not to mention  a wonderful treasure to pass down to younger generations.

It's been a while since I've done a grungy vintage project and I can't tell you how much fun I had playing with it. For me, when it comes to vintage I instantly think of Tim Holtz, all of his products are perfect for creating a vintage project. I 've also used some of the Prima rusting pastes by Finnabair for an awesome rusting affect on the ring binder. There is a YouTube video tutorial posted below and it will have a list of all of the supplies needed, most of which you may find over at the Funkie Junkie Boutique.

Quick note: I did pick out 3 prompts from the Artist Prompt Box I made... I got 7 Gypsies, embossing powder and twine. I haven't used anything from 7 Gypsies in a long time, what a great way to pull out things that have been sitting a while and would probably continue to sit if it weren't for these prompts.

With that said, be sure to stop by Frilly and Funkie for more inspiration and join in on this wonderful challenge.

Enjoy...

7 Gypsies tab dividers, papers and transparencies...
to be decorated as I add photos and journaling.

Rust Paste and Rub N Buff on the ring binder and the name plate

Rubb N Buff on the pen nib... Spanish Copper and Antique Gold

Abigail's Baby Album

Hello creative friends, I would love to share with you my latest project...a baby album for niece Stacey and her newborn daughter Abigail. I will only be sharing the outside of the album as there is just way too much on the inside for me to post and I didn't get a chance to do a "project share" video... the album itself is from Heartfelt Creations, I bought all the inserts for it and magnets to keep all of the inserts secure.

For the front/back covers and spine, I used a wide range of flowers, papers, metal embellishments, chipboard, lace, pearls, bling, embossing powders, paint and more. My most favorite part of this album is the book closure...the heart locket and the key behind it which says dream. Lots of love went into this album and I know she will enjoy it for years to come.

Enjoy...

Love this heart locket,
it has a little glass window so you can see what's inside.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Emily's Sweet 16 Blog Hop

Hello my creative friends, welcome to today's Blog Hop!! Thank you for joining us today as we celebrate Emily's recent Sweet 16th Birthday! We're so thankful you've joined us to celebrate the sixteenth birthday of a fun loving young lady.  She will be blessed by your participation, designs and comments.

For my project I created a Sweet 16 Mini Album, I thought it would be a great way for her to place her birthday photos and do some journaling. The tutorial on how to construct the album can be found on YouTube from My Sister's Scrapper. The stamped image of the girl is from Prima, I used Copic markers to color it in and for the tags, I used the MFT - Die-namics Stitched Tag die.

Hope Emily's day is filled with lots of love, fun and joy...
Happy Birthday Emily!!!

Photo Bomb Mini Album

Hi everyone, here we are with another project I made as a DT challenge for Timeless Twine and Bella Creationz. For one of my Mother's Day gifts, hubby got all 4 boys together to go to the park and take many pictures. It's always hard to get all 4 boys together, with one living in Jersey and the other always working, it's not easy. Luckily the twins are still 15, but I can't imagine what it's going to be like to get them all together once they move out. :(

I bought this mini album svg file from the Silhouette store- design #67735, it's 3x4 and comes with all of the tag embellishments. I used the Bella Creationz stamp set "Oh Snap", which is so perfect for this album, I pretty much used every stamp in this set. I also embellished a lot of the elements with several colors of Timeless Twine.

To complete the album, I added buttons, brads, enamel dots, ribbon, inked all of the edges with several colors of the TH ink pads and I added some foam tape, so I could slide some pictures in.

There's lots of space for photos and journaling... I just have to print photos and add the journaling!!! I must say, this was one of the best Mother's Day gift ever!!!

Enjoy...

Say Cheese Mini Album

Hi everyone, so happy the weekend is finally here, it's been a long week...now all we need the warm weather to finally get here.

Todays challenge at Timeless Twine is Fun Friday...Create something fun! So for my project I made a Camera Mini Album, I've had these awesome papers from Simple Stories "Say Cheese" Collection, that I thought matched perfectly for this project.

The Timeless Twine used is Cherry Red, Lemonade Yellow and Tuxedo Black, from Bella Creationz the Kraft and Gray reinforcement stickers. I liked the use of twine in place of the metals rings that are typically used on mini albums, I think it gives it a softer more playful look.

The svg file is from the Silhouette store #43482, I did use the opening on the reverse side, just a preference of mine. I also cut out additional layers for the center of the tag and the top piece of the tag in various colors of papers, I created those  cuts on my own.

All I need to do is fill in with pictures and add the embellishment that came with the paper collection.

Enjoy...

Halloween Mini Album

Happy Halloween!!!!

Hi guys, hope your all enjoying Halloween today, I had so much fun decorating and as always...looking forward to seeing all of the kids in the neighborhood with their fun costumes.

For todays DT project for Cardz TV Gallery, I thought it would be nice to have a little mini album for all of the cute pictures that we all take of our kids, in my case nieces and nephews all dressed up for Halloween. I have posted a link below to a YouTube video I made showing the project in detail, which I thought it would be much easier than posting pictures. I do plan on doing some future YouTube videos, although I must say I'm still not all that comfortable in front of the camera, which I'm hoping will change as time goes on.

Anyways, I had a lot of fun putting this together, I used Cardz Tv Stamps sets "Trick or Treat", "Spooky Sayings" and "More Spooky Sayings" and the Echo Park Papers "Happy Halloween", which I had from last year. The SVG files that I used are from SVG Cuts, Svg Cutting Files, the Silhouette Store - #66197 and the Cricut Cartridge "Happy Hauntings". Please do not forget to stop by Cardz TV Gallery and check out what else our other designers have created!

Hope you enjoy...

Happy Crafting!!!

The "BOYS" Mini Album

Mini albums I made for my boys, Nick and Drew. A little something to capture their thrill for airsoft. The "BOYS" mini album was purchased at Michaels. The papers I used are from, Hot of the Press "Time for Fun" paper pack, for the other album I used papers from Simple Stories "Awesome" paper pack/elements. I used many embellishments from all over: From AC Moore to Hobby Lobby to many online scrapbooking stores. What can I say, I love to shop, lol!
