Finally we have arrived to the last post showing the complete book of shadows. This was a long process, but I was very happy with it's end result and to finally send it away. I know Kelley is having fun with it, just wondering how long it will take to fill in all of them color charts...oh boy!!! I didn't get a chance to go through all of the pictures before mailing this out to Kelley, so I picked the best ones out of the bunch, they're not perfect, but I think they will do. Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed the journey!
Kelley's Book of Shadows...
Every chapter cover had a leathery chapter page in front of it, just like the one in this pic.
Chapter One...back cover.
Some of the color charts.
Chapter Two...back cover.
Chapter Three...back cover.
Chapter Four...back cover.
Chapter Five...back cover.
Here is Chapter Six...this is so Kelley, can't wait to see what she does with it.
Here we are with the 3rd chapter. I know that one of Kelley's styles besides grunge is steampunk and I believe her favorite paper line from Graphic 45 is "Steampunk Debutante"...so that's what I used. On this cover my focus was on the steampunk hat. I printed a sketch I found online for the hat and cut it into 2 pieces (rim and top hat) to use as a template. I traced the images on some kraft chipboard, then covered the chipboard with TH tissue paper. I used LSG sprays, Th embossing folder and TH distress paint to color the hat. I used TH dies to cut out the gears (some I rusted and some I used TH distress embossing powders, inked them with copper paint)and I also added some metal gears I had in my stash. I used flowers, black glitter flourishes, feathers, jeweled leaf and a copper chain that was also from my stash. All in all, I really liked how it turned out.
Back for part two of the Shadow Book, this is the 1st chapter of 6. The color charts for this chapter are for TH products, inks, stains and so on. So I decided to make this chapter cover focusing on Tim Holtz. I used several of his dies, stamps and embellishments. I used kraft chipboard for all of the die cuts...butterflies, suitcase and tag. I had so much fun making these butterflies, I clued TH tissue paper to the kraft board and sprayed 3 of the butterflies with some LSG copper sprays and I used a combination Perfect Pearls powders, green, blues and copper for the other 2 butterflies. I then used TH black soot distress paint for the edges and creases. I got the rusted ornate plate from another swap I was in with my crafty friend, Gwen and I used TH distress black soot paint to darken some of the edges on that as well. All in all, I really enjoyed making this chapter cover, as Tim Holtz products are some of my favorites to work with. I will be adding links to the previous posts: http://maria-linacreativedesigns.blogspot.com/2014/04/part-one-kelleys-book-of-shadows.html
Tore the edges and added TH distress embossing powders.
Glued butterfly cardstock and splattered black paint to the suitcase to grunge it up. I used these chipboard letters from my stash, mixed molding paste with black acrylic on top, once dried, I used Rub n Buff on the peaks and valleys.
Butterflies were made as listed above, with tissue paper and Perfect Pearls.
TH letters/numbers...Alpha Parts
TH chit chat stickers, trinket pin and tag.
More added goodies.
On the back, I made a pocket for some tags.
The color charts found on the Ranger site, they do not have one for the distress embossing powders, so I made that one on my computer. I decorated each color chart specific to each product, meaning I used glitter on the glitter chart, markers on the marker chart, etc...etc..
Chipboard cover w/ 4 holes
TH paper pads
TH dies...Vintage Valise, Mini Butterflies and Tiny Tabs and Tags
