Lazy Days of Summer

Made this card using the Design Sketch for Mojo Monday!  For the new year they've decided to change things up and make the last Monday of the month a Tall & Skinny week. Their design team has featured two different ways to achieve a tall & skinny card.

The first size is 3.5 x 5.5" and fits a regular A2 envelope and for a little more skinny, you can try a 3.5 x 6" card to fit a regular No. 6 3/4 envelope... I used the 3.5 x 5.5" size

I decided to use warm colors, like the yellows and oranges and some greens, and the stamp set I used is from Cardz TV Stamps "Fun in the Sun". I made this card with a serious need for warm weather, with all of the frigid cold weather we have been getting, I am so ready for summer, as I am sure most of us are...I am even willing to skip Spring, which is one of my favorite times of year, lol! (maybe not)

Enjoy...

Tim Holtz Triptych

This is the first of the directives that I had to do for a Timmy swap. This is the "T" directive...create a tag or triptych.

I went through several ideas just before giving up, then I landed on this idea. I wanted the look of an outside stone wall and welcome Spring by adding blue butterflies and seam binding. I used TH stamped sayings, thought that worked out nicely.

and so you...

and so you...

and so you...

First I cut out pages from an old book and "white washed" paint over it.

Frames from a previous project idea that didn't work out, I am sure we all have at least one!

I added artist spackle around all of the edges.

Inked all edges with walnut ink and used a typewriter stamp with memento black ink.

Once again "white washed" paint around the edges to give it a finished stone wall look!

Sorry for the blur! I spackled the inside of the frames and lightly went over it with the walnut ink pad.

I used Kaiserkraft wooden butterflies. I used distress embossing powders "Faded Jeans" and "Broken China", I added some TH glitter, inked it with "Broken China" and "Tumbled Glass" ink pads (not shown) and Prima white chalk ink. Then I used glossy accents on top.

I used Making Memories metal word titles, inked them with "Stonewashed" and "Aqua" alcohol inks.

I stamped several sayings from several TH stamp sets, layered them and added brown cardstock for contrast and distressed the edges.

Lets not forget the seam binding in blue for an added touch.

This was the first directive of the Tim Holtz swap. The swap required that we create or purchase something for each letter of his name.

Happy Crafting!!!

Tim Holtz Color Chart Book

This was the "L" directive of the Timmy swap. Layering stencils, layers, liquids, paints, stains, alcohol inks), linen and/or ribbon.

I went all out on this one. There was so much done here that I can't list it all. I used a ton of metal embellishments, some Timmy's, some clock pieces, some buttons, butterfly's, brads and so on. I used a couple of his stencils, clocks and distressed dots with molding paste. I used several glimmer mist sprays, TH inks and stamped images. There are layers of  mesh tape, canvas fabric, TH tiny sayings, tickets and movie strip...and it just keeps going.

Edges are painted with copper paint.
I used a few TH dies and embossing powders too. I added several layers of seam binding with dangling metals and a large metal key.

Inside are a couple of tags and a place for storing some ideas. I used TH techniques specific to each color chart...I used distressed paints on the distressed paint chart, distressed embossing powders on the distressed embossing powder chart and so on. It took much longer that I expected, but in the end I think it turned out great. Those little added touches go a long way.

Another area to add ideas, list of purchases needed or whatever.

Have a great day!

Tim Holtz Tag

This is the tag I made for the Timmy swap, there were eight directives for each letter of his name. This one is 'Z' it required using TH stamps or dies, so I used the die to cut out the tag and used several stamps.

I wrapped the tag with foil tape, embossed it with a crackle embossing folder. I used the Alcohol Inks Agates technique on the metal instead of the gloss paper. Sorry, forgot what inks I used, but they were several browns, greens and the Pitch Black alcohol ink. I blended them with the blending solution. I also cut an additional tag and attached it to the back of the tag to hide the edges of the foil tape.
I cut out a bingo card from one of his paper stacks, he has awesome paper packs! I distressed the bingo card, used a TH stamp to match the center of the bingo card and pop dotted the center, I then stamped the other images and inked the edges.

I added seam binding that I distressed with various TH inks. I also added several of his metal embellishments and then added rhinestones to the gears for more color and dimension.
To complete the tag, I used several colors of Glimmer Mists for the flowers.

Tim Holtz Folder/Card

One of the directive's of the Timmy swap I am in, was to have a goodie bag of stamped images, my friend Kelley thought it would be nice to put them in a file folder. So here is what I came up with...

I added letter tiles from a book that I had sitting around for years, so decided to put them to use. The letters are paper thin, so I backed them with cardstock. I twisted and turned the letters, glued them together and added foam tape for a bit of a pop.

Inside are her stamped images, the papers are from one of Tom Holtz paper stacks!!

There are two other previous posts that were done some time ago, that are also part of this swap...due to Christmas it was postponed until now. They are the TH Christmas Card and the TH Bird Cage Card!

Valentine's Card

My niece just loves Hello Kitty, so I thought it would be cute to make her this little adorable HK card. I used the "Hello Kitty Greetings" Cricut cartridge and CardzTv stamps "Critter Captions" and "Encouraging Thoughts".

Thank You Card!

Here is another card I made for the CardzTv Design Team. I used "Create a Critter" Cricut cartridge and CardzTv stamps "Critter Captions"!

Tea Time

Made this cute little card as one of the CardzTv Design Team entry's. Just loved the little tea pot and lace, reminds me of visiting my aunt's house. I used the "Kate's ABC's" Cricut cartridge and for the stamps I used CardzTv stamps "Brew HaHa!

My Craft Room

Finally, some pictures of my craft room. I love this space even though it's way up in the attic. I have it spaced by work stations, it's the only way I can keep organized. Before, I had things everywhere and it was driving me crazy, took a while to get it to this point and I am pretty content.

Entrance into the room...up against the wall, far end to the right, is a little craft table I use as the "wet" station. Then ribbon, SU ink pads and other storage on the back wall...

Paper station, more ribbon and buttons... I keep all of my other papers in the walk-in-closet and I have a credenza that I use for the paper packs!

This is my "work" station...nothing like facing the wall, but...luckily I have the TV to the side.

Storage and more storage...

My "computer" station...

Finally, more storage on the landing of my stairs as I'm leaving my craft room...

So there you have it!!!!
